AAC, or "Augmentive Alternative Communication" apps, are apps or devices designed to help those who do not communicate using verbal language, to communicate in other ways. In this instance, users choose symbols, which are pictures or images of things or actions, that then get spoken.
Anyone who is unable to or otherwise does not want to communicate using verbal language, but still wants to express themselves, may find great benefit in Mosaic Voice. Specifically, our app is ideal and targeted for those who are on the autism spectrum, but if you find that you like to express yourself without using your voice, you can let us be your voice for you.
Mosaic Voice is really targeted towards allowing the user to express their whole self with all of the nuances that verbal language holds, without getting in your way. We believe that the traditional AAC apps may only be beneficial to expressing the user's most basic needs, and is not conducive to actually having conversations with the user in order to get to know them. Mosaic Voice uses the latest modern technology to allow you to be quick to communicate, while being easy to learn, not getting in your way, all while sounding like you. We give you as many symbols as we think you'll need, and allow you to decide how much of that you want. We also make it very quick and seamless to add your own cards and choose where they go.
Absolutely! You can customize boards with different symbols, layouts, and sizes to suit your personal communication needs. You can also add your own images and voice recordings.
We are currently working on adding other languages. Look out for this feature, it will be coming soon!
In short, as of right now, nothing! We chose these options because right now we need 2 things to keep building: 1. money and 2. user feedback. So, if you'd like to support us in our endeavor, we'd love if you chose the $10/month subscription option!
